The Galapagos albatross

When Galapagos albatrosses come together, they engage in astonishing rituals: their beaks cross, touch and clash in a succession of gestures that seem meticulously choreographed.
Beyond the ritual itself, what particularly moves me is the closeness between the birds. In wildlife photography, I have always been drawn to these moments of connection and apparent tenderness,







Española is the only breeding site for the Galapagos albatross.


So clumsy on the ground, he becomes a formidable surfer once he's in the air!
